My Journey as a Peer Leader

I remember sitting in this exact spot about 2 years ago, an upcoming high school junior who was nervous about if she was wearing the right outfit for the interview. Now I’m an upcoming college freshman who is worried about if she will pass all of her classes and be able to make friends. I came into the Center for Young Women’s Health as a shy, timid, girl who didn’t necessarily have all the confidence in the world. Now as I’m writing this blog, I’m an outgoing, funny, loving, girl who knows that for her the sky is the limit.

I appreciate all the relationships I have developed here at the Center, from “Mama” Phaedra to my best friends Erica and Emily. However, I know that this is not goodbye, because I could never say goodbye to a place like this. This is more like, see you later, or see you soon. Although there were times when I dreaded coming here because I didn’t think I was going to do well as a peer leader, now I would give anything just to let the whole word know about the peers. I want nothing more than to be able to see the CYWH grow and expand into bigger and better things, and know that if I’m ever needed, I will always be just one phone call away.

I love you guys forever!
