I Hate Sunburn

Applying SunscreenThe end is finally here! I’m beyond excited to leave school and start my summer vacation. I already have so many plans and goals I want to achieve during the summer. I’m so ready for the feeling of the warm sun hitting my skin, how cold the ocean water will feel on my feet, and those amazing memorable days at the beach.

I’ve learned the hard way that sunburn damages your skin and can even cause skin cancer.  I used to forget to apply sunscreen and then I would end up being outside for a lot longer than I thought I would be, and the result was red hot skin that hurt for days, followed by peeling skin that made my skin look funny. I know most of you can relate to what it’s like to have a sunburn.  Now, I make it a point to apply sunscreen before I go outside and reapply it if I am outdoors for a long time. So, consider this as a gentle reminder to protect your skin!  Read more about sun safety here and when you should see your health care provider for sunburn treatment:
