Introducing Julia!

hannigan_photo.jogHello everyone! My name is Julia and I am so excited to announce that I will be joining the team at the Center for Young Women’s Health for the next few months! I am currently in the last semester of my senior year at Northeastern University, BCH’s neighbor from down the street. I’m majoring in Health Sciences with a minor in Biology. The work I do at CYWH will be for my Capstone project—a service internship that seniors at Northeastern get to do instead of taking a “real class” in order to get hands-on experience before they graduate. I will be starting medical school in August, and my goal is to one day be a physician who is active in her community and gets to help people of all different ages and walks of life. I’m particularly excited to be at CYWH because of their commitment to helping and communicating about health with a group of people I care a whole lot about- young women.

In my free time I can be mostly found near water. I feel much more at home in it than on land! I’ve been swimming competitively for most of my life, and still do as a member of the Club Swim Team at Northeastern. I also enjoy do-it-yourself projects and experimenting with new recipes. Currently I am trying to master the art of nice, warm (but still healthy!) winter stews. I cannot wait to be able to share my thoughts and ideas with all of you!
