The social app Snapchat has recently become very popular in my school. Snapchat is an app that can be used with phones that have front cameras. It’s a fun way to keep in touch with friends and others on your phone’s contact list. Basically, it’s a way to communicate through photos and videos. You can type text and draw on your Snapchat as well.

You can add someone to be your friend if you know their username, but if not, Snapchat will search through your contact list to find those of your friends that have it too, so that you can add them. The app doesn’t allow you to add anyone you don’t know – you have to know a person’s username or they have to know yours in order to connect. Once you’re chatting, you can send a quick picture or video to one of your friends, or talk for as long as you choose. After you’re done with the conversation, the pic/video will be destroyed, and can’t be recovered. Snapchat never lets you save any of the photos, because that would defeat its purpose.
