Enjoying the Summer
It’s the end of the school year and I just finished all of my finals! I really liked my sophomore year. Even though it had a lot of ups and downs, it was a great experience. This is my first summer working with the Center for Young Women’s Health (CYWH) team, and I’m looking forward to it! Next year is my junior year, which will probably be the busiest year of high school. I’ll have to take the SAT’s, decide about college, and keep up with tons of homework and after-school activities. It’s going to be a stressful year for sure. Instead of letting myself become overwhelmed and worried, I’ve decided to enjoy the summer. I plan on keeping busy doing things I like, and getting involved with activities in my community. I think this will help me to feel refreshed when I start school again in September.
I have been waiting for the opportunity to write this blog for so long just to tell you how important it is to have fun before the school year starts up again. It’s a time to relieve stress and relax. I guess that’s why I love summer so much – because I have less responsibility and life in general is so much more laid back. So plan something fun! Go to the beach, attend a camp that you’ve always wanted to go to, get a summer job, re-discover the city or town you live in, go see an outdoor movie, or take in a July 4th celebration. (Don’t forget to spend time with friends and family.) Make your summer count, and do something you’ve always wanted to do. Above all else, have fun!
