Introducing Ayatt!
Hello! My name is Ayatt. I am the new Peer Leader at Boston Children’s Hospital. I am currently a senior in high school, and I am very interested in the medical field. I am a member of the Pre-Med club at my school, where we are visited by many professionals in the medical field who advise and discuss their professions with us. I participated in the MedScience program at Harvard Medical School, where I also worked as an Office Assistant in the Financial Aid Office. At the MedScience program I learned to give sutures, IVs, and how to take vital signs from a patient. I was also exposed to real-life cases of patients.
Outside of school and work I love to hang out with my friends and family. Family is a very big part of my life and having a big family means that I am almost always at a family-related event in my spare time. I love trying new foods, so my friends and I are always discovering new restaurants to go to.
My interest in the Peer Leader position started about a year ago. I volunteered alongside the Peer Leaders for a couple of resident interviews and an MRKH conference. Although I just started as a formal Peer Leader I am very excited to go through this experience and further my learning of the medical field and health.
